Spotlight: Bruderheim Sand Pit

Bruderheim, Alberta –

60km northeast of the city of Edmonton lays the small town of Bruderheim. If you are an Edmonton local that’s always been into the quadding or 4x4 scene, you probably know where this is. For most it’s just another small town outside the city but for some of us, it is home to one of the larger sand pits that’s most accessible from the city. Whether, you’re a ‘noob’ or an expert, the Bruderheim sand pits offer enough variety of terrains that will definitely satisfy your needs. Looking for sand, mud, muskeg, water – you name it and it’s here. Machine presence ranges from Dirt bikes to quads and side by sides, even trucks and jeeps have recently flocked the area. If you’re a family man, the area is also open for day camping. There’s a lot of fairly private sites out of traffic to ‘park’ your family while you get some riding done without worrying about you’re the little kids safety :).

This area is definitely a must see if you’re travelling this way!

How to De-Winterize your 2015 White Water 827 Toy Hauler

If you purchased your unit during the winter months, chances are the unit has been Winterized for winter storage. The plumbing system must be flushed and sanitized prior to use. Do not attempt to turn on your water heater if the system is still winterized. Perform the following prior to attempting to operate the water heater or sue the plumbing system.

1. Drain all tanks, fresh and sewage. (Does not apply to Brand New RVs)
2. Plug your trailer to a power source.

3. Thread in water heater core plug. Tighten until it's snug (do not over-tighten).

 4. Make sure you plug the drainage on the lowest point of your RV with the designated cap.

5. Attach water hose to fresh water fill and fill the tank.

6. Check Fresh Water gauge to make sure it's full.

7. Locate water pump and valve system.

Locate the bypass valve which is usually in between hot and cold water line. Once located, turn valve into close position.

Locate cold water line (blue) and turn the valve into open position.
Locate hot water line (red) and turn the valve into open position.
Make sure the anti-freeze filler line is closed.

8. Turn on the pump switch.

9. Open the cold water side of all faucet/shower fixtures. Leave open until water runs clear. Repeat for hot water side.
(Note: faucets/piping may vibrate due to air in the system. let the pump build up pressure and keep the water running to release air from the system)

Note: Put cold water full on until Anti-freeze (pink) turns into clear water.

Once cold water is clear turn the knob fully off then do the same procedure on Hot water (Red)
Make sure to do all faucet features in the RV especially if you have the optional exterior shower.

10. Flush toilet until clear water runs into bowl.

11. Dump tanks again.
12. Sanitize the water system by preparing a chlorine bleach solution of 1/4 cup to 1 gallon of water for every 15 gallons of tank capacity. If using Ultra bleach concentrations, reduce bleach to 1/8 cup to 1 gallon of water. Add solution to the tank and fill with water. Open each faucet/fixture until a distinct chlorine odor is smelled. Close faucets and let stand for 4 hours. Drain system and flush with fresh water until chlorine odor and smell is gone.
13. If a water filter is installed, drain lines, remove filter assembly, clean and reinstall with the new filter.
14. Once outside the trailer access the hot water panel depress the `pressure switch` and drain the antifreeze until it turns into clear water.
