To kick off the season this year, we decided to
participate in the Annual Hylo Quad Rally happening in Hylo, Alberta, Canada.
Hailing from Toronto, ATV'ing was never a big deal for us.
It never really crossed our minds until we moved to Alberta. We purchased
our Polaris RZR 900XP back in 2013 and haven't really had a chance to
participate in any type of rallies so we thought this would be the perfect
opportunity to get out there and kick the season off right since we did promise
to get out more this year.
Hylo, Alberta is a small town about 190km NE of Edmonton. The rally is attended by over 400 people a year and runs from 9am – 6pm. Upon registration you get a map and 3 sets of # tags that you need to drop at every pit stop so the organizers can check you in. This is done to ensure that everyone get's accounted for at the end of the day. The trail itself goes for
about 60km with 3 checkpoints at about 20km intervals. It took us about 3 hours
to get through the whole thing (with beer breaks in between :) ) Overall we were fairly happy with the quality of
the trail since it had everything you can ask for – snow, ice, mud, sand and water.
The event was fairly organized which was good especially for newbies like us. We
definitely see ourselves coming back next year!
Here's some of the very few pictures we took. If you'd like to see a sneak peak of the trail then head to our Youtube page Badassary_TV!
